"The dream begins, most of the time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you on to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth."
- Dan Rather
My name is Natalie Harmon and welcome to my website. I am very excited to be teaching U.S. Government and Economics for the 2018-2019 school year at Westlake High School. A little on my teaching and education background: I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from California State University, Chico in 2005, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Marylhurst University in 2011, and recently I completed my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Texas State University, San Marcos in spring 2018. I hold a teaching credential in Social Studies 7-12. During Fall 2017, I taught World Geography and Government as part of my Student Teaching at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville. In spring 2018 I joined Westlake High School to teach World History. I am originally from Simi Valley, California and I've lived in Texas for about six years. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, spending time with family, exploring Austin, traveling and going to concerts. I am passionate about helping students connect the dots between our past and our present, developing a spirit of life-long learning, and honing the skills that will help them today and in the future. I look forward to getting to know all of my students and their parents. It's going to be a great year. Go Chaps! |
